What big dreams are on your radar for 2020? Maybe a new relationship?  Finding your purpose?  Embracing a huge lifestyle change?  Finally taking that BIG leap?

No matter what it is, today’s blog is about taking that next step to make your vision board, new year’s resolution, or word-of-the-year a reality!

That next step is to get into action and make CONSISTENT traction.

It’s time to create the momentum to actually make all that amazement you deserve, HAPPEN.

Let’s get real. You’re uber busy, life is happening, and those lofty, blissful dreams and aspirations you had in January, have likely waned, if not dissipated.

Am I right or am I right?

According to U.S. News & World Report, by mid-February about 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions have already failed.

I notice this in my coaching practice. For example, take my clients who create AMAZING vision boards every January…. About 6 weeks later, I see a lot of THIS:

  • The initial excitement of their vision board feels like a distant memory or worse, they’re questioning how then ever thought any of it was even POSSIBLE.
  • They aren’t sure how to make their big, beautiful vision board dreams truly happen in real life.
  • They know they should have taken the actions steps they jotted on their vision board mind maps, but they haven’t.
  • They’re not sure how to get started and STAY started, and wish they had a concrete, no-brainer step-by-step action plan to follow.
  • They lack the discipline to set – and stick to – goals, unless through coaching, I hold their feet to the fire.  Left to themselves, they admit things will slide or they’ll find excuses.
  • They’re inconsistent with the all-important steps that produce sustainable traction.

Whether YOUR January ritual is vision boards, word-of-the-year affirmations, OR New Year resolutions, you might relate to the above.

And, I TOTALLY get it! It’s like wandering into the NOW-WHAT? Syndrome.

And, from what I’ve seen with many clients, that can very easily slip into the SO-WHAT-WHY-BOTHER-NOW? Syndrome.

This is not at ALL what any of my clients REALLY want. And I suspect it’s the same for you too.

Goals give us direction, purpose and infuse passion into our life and work.

Goals are what give our dreams traction.

Without the FEELS, it just won’t happen. In my experience, the time my clients and I spend on this one area, makes THE biggest difference to their success.
